WUMB's participation in the NEA's largest federal reading program - The Big Read over the past five months has been incredible! And, it all culminates this Saturday, May 10th, from 11am-5pm at UMass Boston with our Mockingbird Festival. The family-friendly event is FREE and open to the public with children's activities, music, storytellers, singer-songwriters Sean Staples and Eric Royer, the gospel group The Lovetones, inspiring discussions and lots more. David Kipen, Literary Director for the NEA will deliver the Keynote speech. We'll even have the five finalists from the first-ever contest of "Songs Inspired by To Kill A Mockingbird. Singer-Songwriter Kate Campbell will be one of the Songwriting Finalist judges and will perform. If you'd like to attend (we hope you will), please register in advance here. 2008 Boston Folk Festival line-up has been announced - tickets on sale NOW

WUMB's 11th Annual Boston Folk Festival is going to be better than ever. It features Kathy Mattea, John Gorka, Cliff Eberhardt, Eliza Gilkyson, Henry Butler and lots more, as well as the Songwriting Contest Finals with Buskin & Batteau. It all happens at the UMass Boston campus on September 13 & 14, 2008. The performer line-up and other details for this year's Festival have been announced.
