WUMB October Program Guide

Summer has arrived!

Summer makes you feel life’s possibilities:  Places to go, events to experience, outdoor activities to participate in.  Even just taking a leisurely walk in the early evening is kind of exhilarating.  It’s light until the 8 o’clock hour—how great is that?!?

OK, we will do our complaining about hot & sticky humidity (we are New Englanders after all; we love to complain).  But summer is the time to come out and play.  No more guarding against the inclement winter chill with a coat or scarf pulled around our neck.  Now is the time it’s OK to do more, to really live life.

And among the best things for doing that are…music festivals!!  ‘Tis the season, oh yeah!  Get outside and dance to live music all day in a beautiful setting.  Some of you have made friends with people you only see at annual music events.  This summer, WUMB will be connected with the New Bedford Summerfest, the Lowell Summer Music Series, as well as our own WUMB/Berklee Summer Series. For the second summer in a row, you can join us to see some up and coming musicians the first four Saturday’s in August at Carson Beach in Dorchester.   We are also looking for volunteers to help out at New Bedford and Lowell.  If you are interested, give us a call at 617-287-6900 or email wumb@umb.edu.

As always, check back periodically with WUMB.org for updates on station music events.  And as ever, thanks for being a part of WUMB.  We can’t do it without you.

Hope to see you out at a show or just enjoying summer in New England—

Perry Persoff.
