WUMB June Program Guide

A-Train

Every Sunday morning at 8:00 AM, things begin to swing at WUMB when Jackie Brush takes The A Train to bring you the very best of jazz, blues and R&B:  “My love of tearl-hineshis music is in my DNA, a natural born radio brat – I grew up listening to great Jazz my Dad played on the radio.  Fortunately for me my Dad took his job home with him.  In our house if the radio wasn’t on the record player was.  Jack Brush got his start as a DJ down south.  He’d tell tales of meeting Louis Armstrong, Earl “Fatha” Hines,  Ella Fitzgerald and so many more.”

For close to 70 years there has been a Brush on the air.  First Jack Brush, and now Jackie Brush carrying on the family tradition of broadcast excellence as well as decades of musical tradition.  “Great thought and consideration goes into every single selection whether we are giving a nod to the past or have an eye toward the future.  I am so honored to carry this torch and I’m delighted to share it with you every Sunday on A Train from 8 – noon.”

Read more about Jackie on her WUMB Announcers page, and be sure to tune in for The A Train, or listen online at wumb.org.

What happened to A-Train? This is the second week that I have not heard Jackie and this morning there is a totally different program on. I look forward all week to hearing the great music she play hopefully this is not a permanent change as there is such a void of good music on the radio these days.

I have been a follower of A Train on Sundays for a long time… it’s no longer in the program schedule. What happened?

Returned to Cape Cod after wintering in Florida and could not find the Sunday morning jazz with Jackie Brush. Is it still available?
