WUMB March Program Guide

News from the Program Director

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to give a HUGE “thank you” to everyone who listened, volunteered, and donated during our Fall Member Drive.  It’s truly humbling to see the amount of support this radio station gets from our amazing listeners.  I honestly can’t say it any other way…so thank you, thank you, thank you!

Here are some notes to keep you up to speed with what’s happening in Programming!

We’re a little bit behind on revamping Guest Mix.  We lost our very talented Production ace so that’s put a bit of a strain on everyone.  We’re working hard to get some of these amazing Guest Mix sessions edited down and ready for air.  We should be ready by sometime in November.  I’ll of course make an announcement when we are ready to launch.

We havunderhill-rosee some amazing Member Concerts lined up.  The only one I can really tell you about is happening quickly…on Monday, November 9th.  We’re going to have music from a group called Underhill Rose.  They’re a female trio out of Asheville N.C. and I think you’re going to like it.  They have beautiful harmonies and can certainly play as well.  You can read up on them more here:  http://www.underhillrose.com/about-the-band/.  We’re teaming up once again with the good folks at The Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham.  They are very good at what they do and we enjoy the venue very much.  If you haven’t been there you should give it a try!  We also have Member shows lined up for December and January, so keep an ear out for the announcements!

I also wanted to mention that we’re losing a very good employee but gaining another.  We’re sad (but also very happy and excited for her) to lose Kendall Stewart who has been helping behind the scenes here at WUMB.  Have you won a pair of tickets recently?  Kendall most likely coordinated that.  Read something from our Blog recently?  Yes…that was Kendall.  She’s moving on to Charlottesville, VA to become the new afternoon host and Music Director for 106.1 The Corner.  Good luck Kendall!

jessIn return we’re hiring Jess Phaneuff from WMVY on Martha’s Vineyard to be our new nighttime host starting Monday, November 9th.  Jess will start her new position here and she’ll be on the air from 7-10 Monday through Friday.  Jess is a big supporter of Local Music and I think she’s going to be a great fit.  Make sure to tune in and give a listen!

I hope to see you at the Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham for our next WUMB Member Concert.  If you come out please stop me and say hello!
