April Member Benefits

Matching Gifts

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Spring Member Drive!

I would like to remind all of our Members that you can increase the value of your gift via Matching Funds. It’s a very easy process. Simply ask your personnel department if they have a Matching Gift Program. If so, ask for a form, fill it out, and send it to us. It’s a very easy way that may double the value of your gift!

In order to complete the Match, your company may ask for a 501(c)(3) Tax ID. We are covered by the University of Massachusetts Foundation which has a 501(c)(3) Tax ID of 04-6013152. Please clearly designate the funds to WUMB Radio / UMass Boston.

If you have any questions about Matching Gifts, feel free to contact the Membership Office at wumb.membership@umb.edu or by phone at 617-287-6902. Thank you! Read More…

Music Magazines with Dave

Hi, my name is Dave and I have a problem. Actually I have many, but I’m talking about my paper problem. Specifically magazines. I just can’t throw them out. I just can’t let go of any of ‘em. Not even the computer magazine that announced the latest thing from Apple: the Mac +. I have stacks of Hemmings Motor News (The Bible of the Old Car Hobby) dating back decades. I don’t know why, at this point in time, I’d really need to know the average selling price of a ’56 Morris Minor in 1972, but I still can’t recycle them. Read More…

Spring Fundraiser Re-Cap

Wow, another Spring has begun here in Boston and because of your support we made it through another Spring Fundraiser.  We ended up coming up a little short at the end of the Fundraiser but over the last week contributions have continued to come in.  The good news is that we’re almost at our goal…only off by about 2,000.00 at this point.  So, if you’ve already taken the time to support WUMB, THANK YOU!  If you haven’t just yet, you can still make a donation at wumb.org to ensure you’ll continue to hear the kind of music and programming you enjoy.

I bring up the Fundraiser to not only say thank you, but to also discuss some Programming additions in the not so distant future.  Because your support has been so generous over the last year, we’ve been able to raise enough money to increase our Programming budget.  What this will mean quite simply is more of everything!  We’ll have more content on social media but also on the airwaves!  We’ve got some new Programming launching very soon and I invite you to listen to the Morning Show on Friday, April 15th at 9am.  I’ll be sitting in with Brendan Hogan to discuss what new programming you can hear and when!

Thank you once again for your continued support of WUMB.  At the end of every Fundraiser we are reminded of just how generous and amazing our listeners really are.
