WUMB June Program Guide

Special Features on WUMB

You already know that WUMB presents a great lineup of shows throughout the week. But do you know about all of the terrific special features that run during the day, Monday through Friday?

Every weekday during the Morning Show Brendan Hogan gives us This Day In Music, which celebrates one of that date’s anniversary events in music history. And Brendan also has a second different feature for each day of the week. On Mondays it’s Then and Now, which gives us two songs from a recording artist both now and early in their career. Tuesday’s Second Take lets Brendan draw connections between two artists’ versions of the same song. Family Connections on Wednesdays showcases artists who are related to one another, and on Thursdays Brendan pulls an archived in-studio performance for Live at WUMB. And on Fridays Local Spotlight presents one of this area’s best performing artists.

If you’re listening to WUMB at noon, Dave Palmater presents a different half-hour lunchtime feature every weekday. Mondays are for Back In The Day, which collects songs that were created in a specific place and period of time. On Tuesdays it’s Live From…, a full set of live performances. The Wednesday 6-Pack gives Dave the chance to play six songs on any theme he chooses, and Thursday’s And He/She Wrote spotlights a single songwriter’s work, as covered by various artists. Finally, on Fridays Dave presents the Weekend Preview, in which he gives us a taste of what will be coming up on the weekend’s syndicated shows such as Mountain Stage, American Routes, and more.

Then in the afternoons, don’t miss Albert O’s Daily Dylan, which provides a special daily dose of the music of Bob Dylan, expertly curated by Albert.

And those are just the special features that you can find on WUMB every day of the week! From time to time we produce special series that highlight occasional and seasonal cultural events; watch for those to be announced on the Website, in the Program guide and on the air.

All day, every day, there is something great to listen to on WUMB – you don’t want to miss any of it!
