WUMB January Program Guide

WUMB Presents American Traditional Song Symposium 

SAVE THE DATES:  On November 18 & 19 WUMB, in association with UMass Boston, the Folksong Society of Greater Boston and the Country Dance and Song Society of America will present a two-day event focused on “the rich and varied voice of American life, history and culture.”

The American Traditional Song Symposium will feature concerts, forums, participatory workshops, dancing, jam sessions and song circles, all taking place on the UMass Boston Harbor Campus.  Symposium performers/presenters include: Scott Ainslie, Colleen Cleveland, Rev. Robert Jones, Jesse P. Karlsberg, Bennett Konesni and Edith Gawlor, Hannah Naiman, Rachel Rubin, Elijah Wald, Pam Weeks and Bill Olson.

Each of the two Symposium days will be capped off by an evening concert.  On Friday, 11/19 the featured performers will be Jeff Warner and Alex Cumming.  And on Saturday evening there will be a concert of gospel and blues music; watch for more information on the featured artists coming soon!
