WUMB September Program Guide

New Year and New Times!

I think it’s safe to say (for many reasons) that most of us are looking forward to starting a new year! So with that I’d like to remind everyone of a few changes that we have coming up in Programming.

Folk Tales with Scott Alarik has been deemed a huge success here. If you haven’t heard it yet, Scott does an amazing job of bringing music and artists from the past and explains why they’re still relevant today. I’ve heard from many of you asking if we could put this show in a better time slot and I’m happy to report that starting THIS SATURDAY at 12pm you can hear Folk Tales immediately after Highway 61 Revisited.

Another show that’s moving is Guest Mix. We’ve been able to resurrect this show because of your support over the years and now we’re able to bring you this show in a better time slot. Again, starting this Saturday you can hear Guest Mix at 1 pm every Saturday. Guests for the month include Tom Russell, Paul Rishell & Annie Raines, Darrell Scott and more. I hope you can tune in!

Last but certainly not least we’re moving Local Folk to 6pm Saturday evenings. Patrick Coman is the host of this terrific show and he gets to put a huge two hour spotlight on Local Music! This month alone Patrick will have live in studio guests like Dennis Brennan, he’ll do special features like counting down the top songs of 2016 and much more.

So now that 2017 is here I invite you to listen to these great shows. Once again, it’s because of listener support that we can bring you these programs. They’re all hosted by local hosts and they’re produced right here at WUMB in Boston. This is the kind of radio that gets me excited and I hope you agree. Happy 2017!
