WUMB March Program Guide

Find “the Roots of Roots Music” on Folk Tales!

Scott Alarik continues to bring you the stories behind the music on Folk Tales.  This month you’ll learn about The Newport Folk Festival and its glories, myths, and controversies. Scott will also feature Utah Phillips, the songwriter-raconteur who helped rebuild folk music.  He’ll take you into the life and career of Judy Collins, the ’60s star who expanded the frontiers of folk and pop.  And he’ll end the month with Folkways Records, the stubborn little label that ignited the revival––and the indie music industry.

So don’t miss Folk Tales, Saturdays at noon and rebroadcast on Fridays at 5:00am!
