WUMB November Program Guide

New Music for a New Season

As summer ends and fall begins, I’m one of the few people I know who has a difficult time adjusting. Most of my friends rejoice that sweater weather has arrived. They embrace warm drinks and football season. Me, I’m a summer girl, so this time of year is a tough transition.

Music helps! And there’s always a plethora of new releases slated for the fall. I’m so looking forward to hearing more from Robert Plant’s new album Carry Fire which is officially out on Friday the 13th. Out that same day is a collaboration between former lead guitarist of The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile and Australia’s Courtney Barnett.  A Kurt and Courtney for our generation, this collab makes all the sense in the world to me, and we’ve already gotten some positive feedback by teasing the first few singles.

If you need something new to dive into at this moment, check out the new Hiss Golden Messenger album, Hallelujah Anyhow, which has been stamped with approval by all of us here at WUMB. I can guess this record may make it onto our list of favorites of the year! Hard to believe that 2017 will be over before we know it…

Happy fall,

~ Jess
