WUMB August Program Guide

From the Desk of the Programming Director

New Year and New Programming!

Well here we are…we’ve made it to 2018!  Welcome to a New Year, and I hope your Holidays were pleasant!  We’ve been extremely busy over here at WUMB over the last few months and I wanted to start off the New Year with news…both good and bad.

Let’s start with the bad:  January 19th will be Jess Phaneuf’s last day here at WUMB.  Over the last couple of years we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Jess and the passion that she has for music.  This is a positive move (although bittersweet for WUMB) as Jess is gaining full-time employment as well as an opportunity to move up the proverbial ranks.  While we will most definitely miss Jess let’s be happy for her new move and wish her the best!

Now…the good news!

2017 was an incredible year for WUMB, thanks entirely to your generous support.  I can’t announce anything yet officially but in the next month you’ll be hearing about SEVERAL new additions to Programming.  My goal has always been to develop local content by local hosts.  We’ve done just that.  WUMB continues to grow, and with your support 2018 will be our best year ever.

I hope to see you at our 35th Anniversary show on Friday, February 2nd.  If you haven’t heard about it yet (which is doubtful) we’re having a special Fundraising concert, and also celebrating our very own Albert O who is also celebrating 35 years on the air in Boston.  Again, this is a Fundraising event for WUMB and Members do indeed get a discount to see Peter Wolf and his full band performing that night.
