WUMB September Program Guide

Spinning Out the Winter on H61….

-hello again, hard to believe we’re already in February of 2018, so six, yes, six more weeks of winter. The first weekend of February on H61 we’ll be acknowledging the birthday of one of my favorites, Al Kooper. Dylan, Blues Project, BS&T, Super Session: what a resume!! Graham Nash as well: the Hollies, CSN(Y), solo work, and LP’s released with David Crosby during so-called ‘down time’.

-On Feb 10 our main focus is the legendary Eric Andersen as well as the, well, legendary Carole King. Feb 17 it’s Buffy Sainte-Marie and the recently deceased Walter Becker, and on the 24th we’ll revisit a feature we pursued just over a year ago, all long songs. The criteria? they have to (obviously) be from the 60’s and 70’s, and they have to clock in at more than 7 minutes in length, so get your suggestions in ASAP at albert.o@wumb.org. The most suggested long song last time around? the Butterfield Blues Band’s “East-West” at 13:10!!!

-Looking forward to your input…
