One Year At A Time Debuts in March on WUMB

For my first decade in Boston radio I was known as “Morning Guy Tai,” a name that stuck with me even after I left WFNX in 1997.  Since then I was a talk host on WRKO and WTKK, and presented music on WZLX and WROR.  In the ensuing years I turned my attention to voiceovers, and I am a regular contributor to narrations, commercials on TV and radio, and industrial work as well. Thank You, WAMW! – From Brendan Hogan

I had the opportunity with my wife to attend a WUMB music camp for the first time at the end of February. What a blast WAMW was! It was eye-opening to witness and be a small part of such a close-knit group of supportive and passionate campers and instructors. The spirit of music-making and learning is alive and well at WUMB music camps, and I encourage anyone curious to check them out. From beginners to advanced players, all are welcome. The food is good too! Read More…

Pick Up Your Spirits with Folk Tales

To beat the March ho-hums, on the 3rd, we’ll pick’n’grin with old-time legend Mike Seeger, high-hop to the good-time music of the Jug Bands, and feel the spirit with Peter, Paul & Mary. Then two special live shows for our March fundraiser, a March 10 look at how Elektra Records kick-started the indie revolution and the glory days of Irish Music in Boston; and a March 17 Listeners Favorites show. Hillbilly Fever on the Dixie Bee Line

Hillbilly Fever is the name of a song covered by everyone in the 50’s, and even the 60’s… from Stingbean (of Hee Haw fame) to the Little Jimmie Dickens (who had a decent hit with it), and various and sundry hillbilly and rockabilly groups. Well, it IS a feeling! And I try to capture some of that for you each and every Saturday night on the Dixie Bee Line. Read More…
