WUMB November Program Guide

Pick Up Your Spirits with Folk Tales

To beat the March ho-hums, on the 3rd, we’ll pick’n’grin with old-time legend Mike Seeger, high-hop to the good-time music of the Jug Bands, and feel the spirit with Peter, Paul & Mary. Then two special live shows for our March fundraiser, a March 10 look at how Elektra Records kick-started the indie revolution and the glory days of Irish Music in Boston; and a March 17 Listeners Favorites show.

March 24th features important early revival star Barbara Dane, and the 31st, Canadian icons Ian & Sylvia. Lots of music and fun surprises, including the strange connection between Woody Guthrie and the Boston Red Sox; how Minnesota bluesmen helped Elektra make a baroque Beatles album; and the famous song Pete Seeger forgot that he’d written.

Thanks in advance for all your support during our March fundraiser. You’re the only reason Folk Tales is on the air.
