WUMB April Program Guide

Long Days, Short Albums, & Medium Sized Air Shifts

I can’t quite believe I’m wrapping up my 3rd full month of hosting weeknights at WUMB.  Even though it’s been a chunk of time, I don’t know that I will ever get over the initial excitement of just being here. Between the extensive library and my really cool colleagues, it’s a radio & music lover’s dream come true.

Every night before my show, I browse through the record library and try to find “new to me” things.  Spoiler Alert: There’s a lot.  To paraphrase Bruce Cockburn, I’ll probably never see (or know) everything but I can certainly try! A few of you have been kind enough to reach out to me with musical suggestions and cool music stories – please keep the ideas coming!

In the between my historical research, I’m really digging these new albums:

Shakey Graves – Can’t Wake Up: He’s a gentleman from Texas

Josh Rouse – Love in the Modern Age: He’s a long time favorite, plus the album is short & easy to listen to

Father John Misty – God’s Favorite Customer: No comment needed

Becca Mancari – Good Woman: I’m really emotionally connected to this record but I can’t quite articulate why…which may not be bad a thing.

I’ll be listening to these records and more while I wait for the new Dawes, Jim James, & Chuck Auerbach (Dan’s Dad!) albums to come out later this month.  Until then, enjoy the long days and Happy Pride!
