WUMB July Program Guide

50 Years Later and We All Still Live In A Yellow Submarine!

Do believe that it was 50 years ago this month that we first saw the Beatles film, Yellow Submarine? It’s crazy, but it’s true! The colorful and epic battle between good and evil can be seen once again this month at selected theaters in New England with a new remastered print of the film. I will be hosting several screenings with the only surviving animator from the movie, Ron Campbell, in Natick, Mass. At a screening in Arlington, I will also host and moderate a panel discussing the film and how its message still holds true today.

The other highlight of July in Beatle World is Ringo Starr’s Birthday! Each year on July 7th, Ringo asks in honor of his birthday that people all over the world at noontime say “Peace and Love” to a stranger! On our July 7th show we’ll play lots of Ringo and I’ll tell stories of the many times I interviewed Ringo, and we’ll play extra tracks from his musical catalogue.

Other highlights on Breakfast With The Beatles this month include Paul’s performance at Live Aid in 1985, my interview with Paul this month back in 1990 at his sold out Sullivan Stadium performance in Foxboro Mass, the release of Introducing The Beatles on VJay records in July 1963, plus lots more surprises!

Your input on the show is always welcome. Requests, comments or Questions? Just drop us a line at BreakfastWithTheBeatles909@gmail.com
