WUMB November Program Guide

“In the Sun”

“Well, alright, that’s ok … I’ll just keep it to myself in the sun.”

There are so many good summer songs but this She & Him song will always be my song of the summer. The video reminds me of my time in Southern California, which is really a forever summer kind of place.

Overall hot, sunny weather suits me – my skin turns brown and my hair goes vibrant cerulean. Understandably, most people love the Fall here, but me, I am all about summer.

Other things I’m all about:

My Latest Station Find
Smithsonian Folkways vinyl. Wow. Just Wow. Aside from the music and voices, it’s that heavy 10 inch vinyl, which feels so good in your hands. Amazing.

New Music
Neko Case – Hell On: She is goddess amongst mortals
Courtney Barnett – Tell Me How You Really Feel: If there were ever any lyrics that were reflective of my inner secret monologue, these songs would cover it.
Nick Lowe & Los Straightjackets – Tokyo Bay: It’s such a fun ep & very reflective of the rockabilly culture that never went out of style in Japan.

Last Month’s New Music
Last month, I was waiting for the new Dawes, Chuck Auerbach as produced by Dan, and Jim James. They all, of course, ended up being really good. Dawes & Jim James are a bit heavier than their usual offerings but great for those afternoon outdoor parties. Chuck Auerbach’s album reminds me of classic Lyle Lovett, which would be great music for your sundowners.

Don’t forget – no matter where your party is, you can listen to WUMB from anywhere via our website. Let us keep you company while you’re having fun.

Have a great July!
