WUMB October Program Guide

Happy Holidays from the Dixie Bee Line

I’m writing this around Thanksgiving, and let me tell you, the speed at which this year has passed has really got me a little freaked!  But yet here we are.  One thing is consistent, I obsess about vintage hillbilly music… and I am thrilled to be able to share my collection with you.   Now comes Christmas, and it can get a little crazy… musically, that is!  So the Christmas Extravaganza is on the 22nd of December this year, and we’ll have all of your hillbilly Christmas favorites (whether you know it or not 😀)  Ok, some are a reach… I mean, instrumentals with winter-y sounding names, but hey, it’s all good.  Such enduring classics as “Truckin’ Trees for Christmas”, Ernest Tubb’s “Blue Christmas”, Pee Wee King’s “Rootin’ Tootin’ Santa Claus”, John Prine “I Saw Momma Kissing Santa Claus”, even “Matzo Balls” (to the tune of “Jingle Bells”.)  I mean, we’ve got you covered.  Please tune in, it will be fun!  That said, tune in ANY Saturday 9pm to Midnite for a good dose of radio at it’s most idiosyncratic.

Happy Holidays, everyone.

With love,

~ Jon G.
