WUMB May Program Guide

From the Desk of the Programming Director

First off I just want to thank you as always for listening and supporting WUMB. We’ve had a very busy February which will lead into an even busier March, so I wanted to send you some notes regarding Programming.

As Brendan also mentions in the Program Guide, we’ll be focusing on Women’s contributions to music on Friday, March 8th (International Women’s Day). From 6am-10pm we’ll be playing nothing but the women who have made some of the most important recordings in music.  We’re all very excited to share that day of Programming with you, so I hope you’ll tune in!

We’ve had a couple of great Member Events this month and be on the lookout for another Member Concert announcement for April shortly.

We had an amazing week of live music at WUMB with live in studio performances from Paul Burch, Mark Erelli and Amy Helm. For March we have what should be some incredible sessions booked with Bobby Long on March 8th, Molly Tuttle on March 12th and even Josh Kantor of The Boston Red Sox on March 28th. It should be a lot of fun!

Please make a note — our next 3rd Thursday Concert at The Burren in Somerville is Thursday, March 21st with special guest Liz Frame & The Kickers. WUMB Members get 50% savings off their ticket and we will broadcast the entire evening live starting at 6pm.

Lastly I’d like to thank you for your continued support of WUMB. Our Spring Fundraiser starts this month. If you’ve already supported us…thanks!  If it’s time for you to renew we ask you to do it as soon as possible. Donations that come in between now and 3/15 will receive a special WUMB Pouch, but more importantly your donation will help us start off on the right foot so that we can end our Fundraiser early and successfully. I thank you for your continued support of WUMB!
