WUMB November Program Guide

Here’s June!

Hello, and I hope this finds you well as it’s finally starting to feel like Spring in Boston. Here are some quick Programming notes from WUMB….

Our next 3rd Thursday Concert is happening June 20th with special guests Billy Wylder. As always, tickets are at a 50% discount if you’re a WUMB Member. Also, this will be our last 3rd Thursday as we take a little break until September when we return.

I hope you enjoyed our Day of Dylan this past May 24th. It was a lot of fun as it always is and our hosts did an incredible job featuring covers I’d never heard before. Thanks for your feedback about the day. We like to do Day of Dylan of every once in a while…not every year. If you feel otherwise let me know!

We are by no means taking the Summer off, but I can tell you we’re planning many events for Fall and beyond. Keep an eye out!

We’re excited about our upcoming Summer Acoustic Music Weeks taking place July 14th-20th and also August 18th-24th. Week 2 is completely sold out but a few cancellations in Week 1 mean we have some limited space remaining. We have some amazing instructors like Kate Campbell, Alonzo Pennington, Pete & Maura Kennedy and many more. We’ll be recording their performances and next month I’ll tell you how you can listen to them.

There’s lots of great new music out there. Here are a few of the albums that have really impressed me over the last couple of months:

Ian NoeBetween the Country
Buddy & Julie Miller Breakdown on the 20th Ave South
Son VoltUnion
Justin Townes EarleThe Saint of Lost Causes

Finally, we’re about to begin our New Fiscal Year and as always we continue to need your support. All the shows you hear, all the great music, all the interesting facts you learn while listening to WUMB are all made possible by our Members. You can get your pledge in early by going to our website, wumb.org or calling us during our Fundraiser later in June. If you donate now you can receive a special WUMB pouch as your thank-you gift. Thank you, as always!

I hope you enjoy June as we head officially into Summer!
