WUMB May Program Guide

A quick note of thanks to everyone who donated during our End of the Fiscal Year Fundraiser. We exceeded our goal quicker than we ever have before and we also heard from over 100 brand new Members. We are all extremely humbled by the level of support WUMB has received over the years and we continue to express that none of this would be possible without the contributions from our extremely generous audience.

Now the fun part beings! We’ll use those funds to keep WUMB operating for another year and we’re also underway in planning all that’s in store for 2020 and beyond. Thank you once again for your continued support!

A few notes in Programming….

Please keep an eye out for our live performances from the upcoming Summer Acoustic Music Week. Our 1st live performance will be on Monday, July 15th. We won’t be broadcasting these directly on air but all WUMB Members will be given access so you can hear them live or archived. Again, you’ll receive more info in the next week or so. You can also check our website/social media as we’ll be updating the info there as well.

We’re in the beginning phases of putting together a new Fall schedule for both our WUMB Member Events as well as our 3rd Thursday Concert Series from The Burren in Somerville. Once those schedules are finalized we will of course share that information with you.

The great Woody Guthrie was born on July 14th, 1912. That week Woody will be our “Artist of the Week” which you can hear in the 9am, 12pm, 3pm, and 7pm hours. We’ll be featuring some of Woody’s recorded music as well as the plethora of covers that have emerged over the years.

We have a brand new episode of Guest Mix scheduled to air on Saturday, July 6th. It’s a special episode featuring Josh Kantor, the Organist for The Boston Red Sox. While not performing at Fenway Park, Josh is a Member of our Local Music Scene playing regularly as well as supporting his friends. It’s a fun episode and I hope you can tune in.

I hope you enjoy July as we are officially into Summer!
