It’s Gonna Be Ok

Each day, Brendan has his “Morning Reflection” segment, where he plays a song to put us all in a positive state of mind. I keep meaning to ask him if he has a full list of everything he’s been playing recently. The last one I caught was Anders Osborn, “It’s Gonna Be Ok.” Even just seeing the title of that song makes me feel a bit relieved. When I am feeling a tad overwhelmed, I try to keep in mind that the sun will always come up; the earth will continue to turn; and things will move on as they do. Read More…

Talking Music On A Legendary Bus

I stood outside a huge vehicle on a May Saturday morning in 2013, and as soon as the door opened, a certain vaguely familiar fragrance wafted out, and I knew I was in the right place: Willie Nelson’s tour bus.

The legendary songwriter and singer was hours away from receiving an honorary doctor of music degree during a college commencement at the Agganis Arena, and I was about to spend 15 minutes with him to talk about his life in music. Read More…

‘‘Tis the season to practice gratitude. Thank you so much to all who contributed to our spring fundraiser. You showed WUMB remarkable support in challenging times and while we didn’t reach our goal, I’m amazed (as always) how you always  heed our call. Read More…

Ye Olde Mail Bag

Wow!  This whole lockdown thing is really something, yikes.  I’m lucky, I’m able to do my day job on a computer from the comfort of my man-cave.  Lots of others are not so lucky.  However, WUMB is still on the air, and I’m doing the Dixie Bee Line shows live every Saturday from 9pm to Midnite.  Read More…

H61 in April

well, we ‘speak’ again, this mode being the MO these days for everything we’re going through…as you’ve noticed, we’ve been allowed to work, to stay on the air, which hopefully is at  the very least lending you some sort of comfort and companionship during these admittedly odd times…so, here’s what you can look forward to as far as H61 goes for the merry month of April… Read More…

Welcome to April!

I hope you and yours are doing well. Here at WUMB we are grateful for the opportunity to try to keep you company, entertained, and informed during these unsettled times. Music has a wonderful way of bringing us together through shared experience, and through celebration of our culture. Music can be catharsis, and it can be a great escape. It can say what we’re feeling, and it can make us feel better. We intend to continue bringing you more music while heading into April, both on The Morning Show and on WUMB as a whole. Thanks for listening and thanks for your support. Read More…
