Meeting Paul McCartney!

In the coming months in this space, I thought I would share my experiences meeting Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison!

When Breakfast With The Beatles airs on Saturday mornings from 6am-8am on WUMB, many reach out to say hello and ask that I share some of those stories on the show and sometimes I do. However, I do like to keep it a music-centric show and not a conversation show. Read More…

Swinging into Spring….

It’s hard to believe a year has come and gone and it’s now April 2021. Like the sprouting that occurs in the Springtime, “we” are emerging from this year and peeking our heads out to look around. Hopefully it’s a good look, and we will find reasons to celebrate. Let’s start off with some of my favorite “shake it off” music, shall we? Here’s some Swing into Spring tunes…. Read More…

If ever there was a band (in all its many permutations over the years) that embodied the idea of blending together the sounds of the whole world into one big groove, it was this one. Read More…

Flower Songs for Spring

Our recent Spring fundraiser was a huge success due to your amazing generosity. Thank you so much for renewing memberships, making additional gifts, starting new memberships and for your monthly gifts as sustainers!

My thoughts have definitely turned to spending as much time as possible outdoors soaking up the sunshine and warmth as our New England temperatures start to moderate. My daily walks have taken me to places like Acton Arboretum and Minute Man National Park to watch as nature works its magic and flowers start popping through. It’s made me think of some favorite flower songs. Read More…

Odyssey in April

Here is more detail about what we’ll be covering this month on each week’s Odyssey:

Apr. 4- We embark on a journey to the big island of Madagascar, after listening to the amazing traditions of Indonesia for the last couple weeks- the original settlers in Madagascar were actually from Indonesia, so there are many fascinating hints in the music of this relationship.
