WUMB January Program Guide

Happy New Year!

Happy 2021 and thank you for your continued support of WUMB! I hope you enjoyed your Holiday season as best as possible given the strange circumstances in the world.

Here are some notes for January from Programming:

I’d like to start off talking about the past a bit as WUMB has just started The Top 20 albums of 2020. It was a strange year but the music as always was amazing. Over the last few weeks Members have been voting and letting us know what their favorites have been. We’ll play WUMB’s Top 20 of 2020 all this week and ending on Friday evening with big of reveal of #1. It’s a tremendous list and a good reminder that while the year was strange the music was as good as ever.

On Friday, January 22nd listen to The Morning Show with Brendan Hogan as he pays tribute to Lead Belly.

Weekdays close to 5:30 we feature Daily Dylan, and this month we’re continuing to recreate the Bob Dylan catalog through covers. As of this writing we’re in Blonde on Blonde but throughout January we’re also be recreating John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline and more.

Weekday Mornings around 11:20 we feature The Producer Spotlight with Randi Millman. Throughout December she showcased influential Folk Producers of the 1960s. Throughout January we’re moving into the 1970s so she’ll curate the works of producers like Arif Mardin, Glyn Johns and more.

Highway 61 Revisited, Guest Mix and more continue to churn out new episodes weekly as well.

This is all possible because of your generous support. Thank you for your contribution in 2020! I think what I’ve learned this year is that no matter what is going on in the world…music is needed whether there’s a pandemic or not. Your support has kept us strong during these strange times, and all of us will continue to do the best job possible of trying to share great music each day.

Thanks again, and here’s to 2021!
