WUMB March Program Guide

February Programming Update

There’s nothing quite like the dead of Winter in New England so I hope this message finds you safe, warm and relatively sane with all that’s going on in the world!

Even though the temps are getting low and an expected Nor’easter is on its way as I write this, Programming in WUMB remains as busy as ever.

Be on the lookout for New Music. We believe in not just throwing “everything” new at you, but instead in going through new releases and plucking the best of the best for you to hear. So with that here’s what we’re currently loving:

Barry GibbGreenfields. Featured guests include Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile and more and produced by Dave Cobb.

Rodney Rice, Same Shirt, Different Day. Rodney was a “new to us” artist in that nobody at WUMB had spent any time with his music. We all came to love his new one which has flairs of Todd Snider, John Prine and more.

Elizabeth & The Catapult, Pop the Placebo. This is the only single we have so far from her new forthcoming record but it’s beautifully written and produced.

Steve Earle & The Dukes, J.T. A wonderful tribute to Steve’s late son Justin who we lost in 2020. These are at times faithful renditions, and other times new takes on Justin’s music.

More new music will continue to come in as we continue through 2021 and know that WUMB will always be on the lookout for the best of the best.

Other Programming Notes:

Expect a big Johnny Cash Birthday celebration in many ways near the end of the month!

You can catch up on episodes you might have missed from Guest Mix with Host Rob Hochschild. This month we’ll revisit some of our most popular shows thus far including G.E. Smith, S.G. Goodman and more.

And lastly, there are lots of ways to keep in touch with the SAMW Community. Keep a lookout for our ongoing SAMW Faculty Concert Series and more. You can find all of that info on the home page of our website.

Stay warm and thank you for listening and supporting WUMB!
