Musical Movies

It’s coming up on a year since concert venues were forced into silence. Perhaps missing the live music experience has contributed to why I’ve been watching more and more movies with a musical component. The Local Music Corner

Boston music vet Chuck McDermott’s new music is coming out this month.  It is an EP, called 38 Degrees and Raining.  He must have been thinking about winter eventually coming around again when he was recording it (last Summer into Fall, if I remember correctly).  Although 38 degrees is not necessarily too warm to snow.  I probably wouldn’t be thinking about these weather connections were Boston not having a “2014-15, Junior” type winter. March Update

And with that, we’re ¼ of the way through 2021 already. I hope as we begin March that you and your families are in good health. With news about venues opening up we’re certainly hopeful that the things we cherish as music fans will once again return.

I’d like to take just a moment, as we’re a few weeks out from our Spring Fundraiser, to ask you for your support of WUMB. As a non-profit we’re always Fundraising, but this is a “big” one for us. Even though we have other Fundraisers that take place, the Fall and Spring are the most imperative. If you’d really like to help the station out you can pledge early, as that helps us out tremendously. Our Fundraiser begins on Friday, March 19th. Read More…
