  • WUMB’s Brendan Hogan Presents Blues Recording History

WUMB Morning Show listeners know Brendan Hogan for his careful curation of a wide range of contemporary and traditional acoustic music, and for the way he is able to shine a brief spotlight on selected artists, songs, and moments in music history.  WUMB Blues Camp alums know Brendan as the Music Director of WUMB’s most recent specialty camp, now in it’s third year (this year, online!).  On Wednesday, April 21 at 8:00pm you can get to know Brendan in one of his favorite roles: as a scholar and lover of blues music, as he guides us on a journey through recorded blues music history from W.C. Handy to Bessie Smith, Robert Johnson to Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy to Bonnie Raitt and more.

Whether you’re a devoted fan or you’ve just started listening, or if you’re not even sure what “blues music” is all about, you’ll get a lot from this event.  And if you’re planning to attend Blues Music Camp 2021, what better way to whet your appetite than with this listening tour through the history of the blues?   All are welcome to this free WUMB Special Presentation, and you can register by clicking here.
