Free Open Auditions for Public Radio Talent Quest -- Courtesy of WUMB Radio

Have you come up with the perfect entry for the Public Radio Talent Quest but you don't know how to get it recorded and submitted? Come to the UMass Boston Campus Center 2nd Floor, on one of the following dates and times and we'll make it easy for you to enter!

Sunday, April 29th from noon-5pm
or
Tuesday, May 1st from 6pm-9pm

See? It's already easier than other competitions -- you don't even have to wake up at 4:30am or put on your makeup to participate in this audition!

The staff from WUMB Radio and Public Radio Talent Quest are working together to make it as simple for you as possible to enter. We'll have the equipment to record your voice, and the computers to upload your entries. All you have to do to is be ready to show your personality in 2 minutes or less in one of three categories: Talk, Entertainment or Music. More details about the categories here.

Here's how to participate in the open auditons:

* Sign-up in advance at the Talent Quest Web Site; bring your user name with you. If you are unable to sign up in advance, you will be able to do this at the open audition but it will take more time.
* Read the entry rules, and prepare your 2-minute entry at home in advance; if you're submitting a music/entertainment entry you can bring along one piece of music to use, as long as it doesn't infringe on any copyrights. Read the Help/FAQ page on the Talent Quest Web Site for more info this.
* Come to UMass Boston on one of the above days and times. UMass Boston is easily accessible by car and is on the MTBA Red Line; directions to the campus here. If you are driving, you should park in the "North Parking Lot".
* Come to the 2nd floor of the Campus Center. Take a numbered ticket at the check-in table; first come, first served.
* When your number is called, you will be directed to a room with the recording equipment and an engineer, and will be given ten (10) minutes to record your 2-minute entry. If you exceed the ten minute studio time, or you want to re-record your entry you will need to take another number and wait in line again.
* Take your entry to the Talent Quest entry validaton table and they will make sure your entry form is complete and help upload your entry to the Web site. It's THAT simple.

Must be 18 to enter. All recording time is on a first come, first served basis; we will be able to accommodate up to 100 people each day. Parking is free on Sunday; standard Campus parking rates apply on Tuesday evening.

Participation in the WUMB Talent Quest Open Auditions does not in any way impact your chance of winning the competition.

WUMB's Talent Quest Open Auditions procedures are subject to change. Check back on this Web page for updates. For questions about these audtions, contact wumb@umb.edu. For questions about the competition, visit the Help/FAQ section of the Talent Quest Web site.
